  • First real auto focus reflex of the world (1985)

Presented in 1985, that´s the first real auto focus reflex of the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minolta_Maxxum_7000 "This was not just a manual focus camera with autofocus added. It was truly a revolutionary camera in that it redefined what an SLR was with the addition of computer chips in the camera body, lenses, and accessories." Very reliable, the Program Mode sets Exposure Time & Aperture with perfection. There are manual controls also and that´s where the 1980s design shows itself: instead of wheels to set aperture and time, you have buttons. There´s also a beep mode, that beeps when AF system "finds" the focus. Besides these special features, everything else is like the actual DSLRs. A Maxxum 7000AF with a prime 50/1.7, 28/2.8 and a 100/2.8 from 1985 is a good set that can ...

  • I absolutely love this camera, and the quality of film it produces.

This is exactly what I was hoping for when I read about the fantastic Minolta Maxxum 7000 with Auto-Focus. It's a very versatile camera, it worked for all scenarios I was in, including indoor poorly light photos, and bright outside sunshine filled photos. It still holds its value to this day, however if I had to complain I'd have to point out that it's not the quietest cameras, so taking pictures of animals will probably spook them. It's also not a very powerful zoom, but there's plenty of extensions for that.

  • Minolta Maxxum 7000

In great condition, no corrosion in the battery compartment which is hard to find with this line of cameras, light meter works super well and so does the shutter. Hot shoe is fully functional. I have yet to use film in it, but from what I can tell I will have no problems at all!
