THIS IS A DIFFERENT AND WONDERFUL SPIN ON DR. JECKEL AND MR HYDE, VERY EXCITING, WAS COMPLETELY SUPRISED AT HOW THIS ONETIME BORING MOVIE COULD BE SO ENTERTAINING. JOHN MALKOVICH DID A OUTSTANDING JOB OF BRING THIS OLD MOVIE BACK TO LIFE AGAIN. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS I RECOMMEND YOU DO.

Good choice for lovers of classic horror.
While it does depart from the original story somewhat it is done in a way to interest even the horror movie purist. Mary is played by Julia Roberts so that means a fake British accent but if you can get past that it is quite entertaining. There is very little of the special effects nonsense we come to expect these days but the suspense bis built the old fashioned way. A little gore, a lot of blood and a bleak view of old England.
