Great Black Sabbath tribute cd
This cd would be a great addition to anyone's Black Sabbath collection. Rob Zombie sings "Children of the Grave" and he nails it! The insert tells the story how each of the tribute bands were influenced by Black Sabbath music. This was an awesome purchase for me and I know it would be for anyone that loves Black Sabbath and Metal music.

The second time I buy this CD since 1994
Perhaps more than any other single group, the Sabbath sound lay at the heart of Seattle's grunge movement 20-some years later. And many of today's top sonic heavyweights are only too ecstatic to give credit where credit is due. The liner notes may somewhat overstate Black Sabbath's ultimate importance, and quotes from the participating groups tend to gush with the praise of devoted acolytes...but that's exactly the point. The Nativity contributors approach the music with all the passion and spark of real fans, while never boxing themselves into slavish recreations of the original compositions.Perhaps more than any other single group, the Sabbath sound lay at the heart of Seattle's grunge movement 20-some years later. And many of today's top sonic heavyweights are only too ecstatic to give credit where credit is due. The liner notes may somewhat overstate Black Sabbath's ultimate importance, and quotes from the participating groups tend to gush with the praise of devoted acolytes...but that's exactly the point. If you are a true, blue Black Sabbath fan, this compilation album (disk) is a must for your collection. Artists who followed the ground work laid by Black Sabbath such as Type O Negative, Megadeath, White Zombie, Corrosion O Conformity, Bruce Dickinson with Godspeed, and so much more talent truly "throw down" and pay homage to the masters of metal! Ugly Kid Joe does a version of N.I.B. that will in you spin long after the song is over. All versions are very well done while respecting and admiring the ground breaking originals.If you are a true, blue Black Sabbath fan, this compilation album (disk) is a must for your collection. This is a must own cd for any metal fan.
I have bought this cd several times. Every once in a while you lose or scrath a disc. This cd kicks ass, lets face it anything with MEGADETH on it rocks! Also some good work from Sepultura, and Ugly Kid Joe. Faith No More's take on Black Sabbath also a treat. This is a must have for any true metal fan. Put it this way, if your some wuss that went out right away to buy any of the last 4 Metallica cd's then "Nativity in Black" is NOT for you.I have bought this cd several times.
