About this product

Product Information

Edward James Olmos directs this feature-length drama that tells the story of the Peabody-winning series -- from the perspective of the Cylons. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE PLAN finds man's creations plotting to destroy their makers, but when their genocidal scheme leaves survivors. Now, two Cylons must try to eliminate the remnants of humanity, while Adama (Olmos) and his fleet struggle to survive. From the nuclear devastation that began the miniseries to Sharon's (Grace Park) attempt to kill her commander, all the show's biggest moments are seen from the enemy's point of view. The film also stars Tricia Helfer, Michael Hogan, Dean Stockwell, Michael Trucco, and Aaron Douglas.

Essential viewing for Battlestar Gallactica fans

Just make sure you watch The Plan *after* having watched all the episodes of all the seasons of the "new" (2004-2009) Battlestar Gallactica series. It brings everything you've watched into a revealing context and excellent focus that brings it all together. Not only is Edward James Olmos a superb actor, but his directing of this 2 hour film (with great special features) is excellent.

  • The Cylons Were Created By Man...

Battlestar Galactica The Plan is a great addition to the new series. It follows "the plan" of the cylons from the beginning of the series until just after the rescue of Sam Anders from Caprica. It gives some back story to the final five cylons and includes a lot of clips from the series, which is nice because it takes place over a long time and the clips help you know when certain parts of the movie take place. Unfortunately there are several unanswered questions from the series which are not explained during The Plan. However, it is a good addition nonetheless.

  • What were the Cylons doing? This was their plan.

This gives 'the other side' of the full series. It's what the Cylons were doing among themselves throughout the series. I wonder if it's actually cut scenes. It seems like it would have been more appropriate to integrate it into the series where it would help illuminate what was going on. But that said, it's a great addition to the series.

  • Basically a review of the series

This story is directed by Edward James Olmos and brings back the cast of the hit series. The story centers around the Cylons 'Plan' to rid the universe of Humans. The movie brings in many new scenes of the original cast and enlightens viewers on some of the unanswered questions they may have had at the end of the series. It also uses many flash-backs of scenes directly from the original series yet this is done well and it is difficult to tell which is which. The only draw back is there are still a lot of unanswered questions, foremost is what or who is Kara Thrace (Starbuck), this was left open when she disappeared in the final show and it is not even addressed in this feature. There are other unanswered questions but I will leave that for you to discover. This is an excellent addition ...

  • It answered many questions.

It answered many questions, but it could have had more. Sounds ridiculous...more! The series was excellent, but more in depth on how they were treated which caused them to rebel would have added. Some of the early history leading up to "The Plan". I recommend the entire series. EXCELLENT.
