A Scary Thrill Ride - Doesn't Feel Like A Sequel
Forget about the first Joy Ride. This movie can easily stand on its own. Besides bringing back the killer trucker, Rusty Nail, this movie is nothing like the first movie. The four main leads are virtual unknowns but they come off as believable and you actually feel for them. This movie does have some torture violence like the Hostel films but it really seems to work in this movie and does not seem gratuitous.Forget about the first Joy Ride. Makes you feel really afraid, but that's good, Maybe?
Everyone who ever goes to a scary movie with someone always remembers the first time they were really afraid and jumped out of their seats. For me, it was Jaws. Even though I never saw this in a theater, I'm glad I didn't. This one makes your skin crawl. Not only that, it makes you feel like trusting nobody. This movie really has indirectly given truckers a bad name. There were times in this movie that I thought were really inventive and believable. This was surprising, since most characters in these types of movies, you never really seem to connect with. However, in this film, you may actually feel like you're exactly in their shoes and hoping to help them get away from this lunatic. I really like this movie. I can't believe that there will be a thrid one. I wanted to buy Joy Ride 2 for a long time because I loved the first one as well. A couple parts I got scared, just because I really wasn't expecting anything to happen. Then the funny parts in the movie as well. I have a open sense of humor so I laugh a lot. Overall this movie was amazing, and I would reccomend it to everyone..!!!I really like this movie. I can't believe that there will be a thrid one.
