  • Sweet

Light airy - Wilson Phillips style tunes; I've always rather liked this disc, and although it may not be in everyone's taste all the time this is wonderful background for dinner music, or as a family gathering sound track - it is great mood and ambience tunes - it is a wonderful disc to lay by a pool and relax to, read a book with, to start the day with. Upbeat, light, easy to sing along with both in and out of the shower. A treat to enjoy. Easy rock, light pop, elevator type muzak but - not quite ... If you like Enya, Lorrena McKennit, or Kate Bush you will like this disc.

  • A preachy tone for a rock band

Wilson Phillips came of age at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. In terms of their music, it sounds VERY 1980s, even though their first album was released in 1990. They present themselves as another girl-band with light and sugary-sounding music and carefree lyrics. However, on closer inspection, the tone that they adopt is very preachy and stern. If you listen closely to the lyrics of "Hold On", they are basically telling the listener to get off the mat, quit whining and own up to their responsibilities in very preachy tones. They seem very serious and humorless for a rock band. Their music is also rather harsh emotionally; they give the impression of being unsympathetic to peoples' problems. They remind you of your mother on a bad day. If your idea of fun or ...

  • Great Memories

My daughter and I used to listen to this tape together when she was in High School. I had forgotten about the great songs until Wilson Phillips came out with Christmas music this year. I wanted to find a CD and have these wonderful songs back in my music library. Wilson Phillips is a talented group with good songs on this CD. A real favorite and it brings back good memories for me.

  • Beautiful, timeless, still fresh, drawing me back again after 20 years.

This was the debut album for Wilson Phillips. I have loved the album since 1990. An entire album of harmonized ballads, for personal introspection and sharing. These 3 ladies are the offspring of prominent musicians; Carnie and Wendy Wilson are the daughters of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, while Chynna Phillips' parents are John Phillips and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas. Of course they are good! Still their best album in my opinion.
