    Great compilation

George Harrison's output on the Dark Horse label from 1976 is often underrated and not given the plaudits it deserves. This album offers just a handful of examples as to why George was given short shrift for his songwriting and recording throughout this period. From "Crackerbox Palace" to "Poor Little Girl", this album has plenty of surprise gems to keep you listening time and time again.

  • Very good introduction to George's post-1975 solo work

This compilation is a fine survey of Georges post-Extra Texture work with a couple of rare tracks thrown in (Poor Little Girl and Cheer Down). Most of these songs received little to no airplay but that has more to do with the lack of freedom on commercial radio than the quality of the songwriting and musicianship which is first rate. Of course for the devoted fan like myself, I would have loved to seen a couple of more tracks off of Somewhere In England (Blood From A Clone and Baltimore Oriole come to mind) and a little less Cloud Nine since that work is so strong you should not be without the entire record. We can also hope that Warner Bros. will release some of the unreleased tracks that they withheld when issuing the box set. Lastly, can we get a remastering and re-release of the great ...

  • An interesting collection of George's later material.

I was really happy that I purchased this CD at a fair price. It's really a shame what some people are charging for it simply because it has fallen out of print.Even more shameful is the fact that there's not a single, decent collection of George Harrison music on the market covering his entire career.I really didn't want to shell out for the Dark Horse box set that was issued a few years ago because it's a lot of money and there's too much non-essential music on it.I first purchased The Best of George Harrison on CD(I had already had it with a different cover for a number of years on cassette)and thought that this second collection would be a nice addition, but I was really shocked at some of the prices that it was being sold for. Most of the material I already had on various albums,so I ...

  • Hard to find "Best of" George Harrison CD

I'm a huge Beatles fan, so of course, this CD was essential to my collection. This CD is no longer available in stores and is very hard to find. The music covers the later solo career of George Harrison and has some great music on it. As with most of George's work, it doesn't quite equal the work of John Lennon or Paul McCartney, but is still a very satisfying compilation. I give it a "Good" rating because while it is a collection I've wanted for a long time, it is not an outstanding album by no means. I would still recommend it to any Beatles fan, young or old.

  • Super Fast

That was super fast shipping! The CD plays clean and it was what I needed to add to my George Harrison collection. It’s worth it for the hard to find B sides.
