    Their Satanic Majesties Request SACD

This was a flop for the Rolling Stones, but nevertheless, I liked this album which was an attempt to compete with Sgt Peppers. MY favorites are She's like Rainbow and 2000 light years from home! I recommend it to anyone in that the sound quality is superb and you can have a look at where the Stones were compared to The Beatles. I think every Stones fan should own this recording.

  • Awesome product! ( Rolling Stones: Their Satanic Majesties Request)

If you are looking for a classic rock album to add to your music collection, then stumble upon The Rolling Stones: Their Satanic Majesties Request! This rare gem of an album has a unique sound that is reminiscent to The Beatles: Sergeant Peppper's Lonely Hearts Club Band! The Rolling Stones, like their rock counterparts, The Beatles, were experimenting with different sound effects for the psychedelic rock era (late 1960's) and it has been an influence like the pioneer of that genre, Jimi Hendrix! One could easily discover that it has influenced musicians down through the decades. Songs to check out: "Citadel", "In Another Land", and "Gomper" to give you a preview of the excellence of this album. This is a 10 track album. Students of music ...

  • Off The Beaten Path For The Stones

The first time I listened to this album, I'm like what the hell is this? It's weird and at times annoying and immediately I hated it. But after I listened to it a few times it grew on me, and it was yet something different for the Stones. They've done almost every genre, so why not weird, psychodelic, medevil, whatever you want to call it. They put in some weird citar sounds and it sounds like it should be the soundtrack of a medevil Robin Hood on drugs movie. Casual fans probably won't like this album, it sounds absolutely nothing like anything they've ever done before or since. But die hard fans will appreciate the bold move that the Stones made, doing something a little off kilter. The songs are experimental, and fresh for those who weren't around to hear them when they were ...

  • Weird Title

I decided to buy it because I had not heard it in a long time. And it had two really good songs on it, She's a Rsinbow and 2,000 light years from home. This album was produced by the Rolling Stones in response to Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and was a failure. It didn't even come close to matching the Beatles songs. Which were all outstanding. Only two or three songs on Their Satanic Majesties Request come close to be good. But because She's a Rainbow and 2,000 light years from home are excellent songs I decided to buy it and give it another listen after about thirty years time. If you can get the slbum at a low price it is worth adding to your collection of Rolling Stones cds if nothing more than a a curiosity.

  • The BEST Stones....ever!

I have never been able to say I was a big stones fan, but always admired and respected them for being out there for all these years. That said, I feel this is the most experimental, inovative and best music the Stones ever put out. I had it many moons ago on one of those plastic albums, but still felt the need to buy it on c.d., it is that good. Not the usual Stones sound, but one I like better than all the rest. One of my mottos in life is, different is better, and in this case it holds very true. If you like most of the Stones other stuff, you may not like this one. But, if like me, you can appreciate and get into other sounds and mindsets, or if you like the Beatles more "out there" albums, then you will get into this. Put on your headphones, turn off the lights, and use that ...
