    These songs changed the rock and roll landscape!

    By the mid-60s, rock music had taken a serious and dramatic turn for the better, with newer sounds all over radio airwaves. The 1965 volume of "Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits" are a lasting tribute to these changes. Shirley Ellis had one of the year's most fun songs with "The Name Game", remembered for its very catchy wordplay; "A Lover's Concerto" by the Toys has a melody similar to J.S. Bach's "Minuet In G Minor"; Gary Lewis and the Playboys scored with chart-topper "This Diamond Ring"; the Beach Boys continued their popularity with "Help Me, Rhonda"; one of the most successful songs of the 20th century was "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" by the Righteous Brothers; Sam the Sham and ...
