About this product

Product Information

Virtual Pool 64, the first billiards title on Nintendo 64, features a 3D table and a choice of nine game variants: 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, 6-ball, 3-ball, rotation pool, straight pool, bank pool and one pocket. Before you start playing, you can enter your name for record keeping and select one of four modes: Match, Tournament, Freestyle, and Shark Skins. A tournament consists of two to four rounds, while a match is simply a one-on-one challenge. Freestyle allows up to four players to create their own rules, whereas Shark Skins has you trying to clear a table in the fewest number of shots.

Control involves aiming and powering up each shot by holding back on the analog stick. You can also control spin as well as select from a variety of options, including calling shots, push-outs, pass push-outs, and spotting the lowest ball. Other options include four table colors, three rooms, and adjustable table speed, rail speed, pocket cut, and pocket size. In-game help is available for those new to billiards, with the rules for all nine games and general strategy tips included on the 32-megabit cartridge. A Controller Pak is needed to save statistics and progress during the game.

    Soo bad!!!

This is literally the worst game i have ever played, i played maybe 2 minutes and almost died, if it wasnt on the n64 i would burn it and laugh, but i need it for my collection, maybe it was cool 20 years ago....but i doubt it.

  • Experience pool without getting your hands covered in chalk.

An underrated game for the N64, it deserves more attention than it received at launch. While it is a pool game, it offers a pretty realistic experience that can actually be transferred to an actual table. When you break you really hear that 'CLACK' that's expected from a hard break. Music is ok, offering only 2 styles, but just put your own music on. Graphics wise, the backgrounds aren't pretty but the table is beautiful, and the balls, unlike most spherical objects in 64 games, are very rounded and roll perfectly. Also included are 9 different styles of pool, and for 8-Ball, there are 3 sets of rules to play by: American Bar rules, American Pool Association and British rules).

  • Virtual Boredom

I found this game very boring. Too complicated and not enough speed. Sometimes simple is better.

  • Virtual Pool 64

Plenty of cool tricks you can use, like being able to see the course of your ball before you hit it. Or actually seeing how the angles you use to shoot will work before you actually shoot. For an N64 pool game, I give it an 8/10. It's a good buy.

  • Fun

    Great pool game!
