    Great features, frustrating UI.

    Excellent features, but having used the Sky and Sony TV interface, I personally found the User Interface frustrating. Didn't help that I didn't get a manual on purchase, but even so these things should be intuitive. Really frustrating learning curve that I feel is a design problem not a user problem! It's small things that make a difference, e.g. the TV guide doesn't have a page up / down feature. It took a while for me to discover the 'find' feature (searching for future programmes) - though now I have, it's great. But it wasn't where I expected. Still, it's got loads of recording space, does exactly what it should, and the features are very good. They could just do with taking a leaf out of Sky's book from a UI point of view.

    Excellent when it works.

    If you get a good one you will be delighted with it. The first one I received was dreadful. It took an age to boot up; kept freezing; would not record; and often would not change channel. I spoke to Humax technical support and they said it was probably a corrupted hard drive. The supplier exchanged it without question. The replacement product has been excellent. It is easy to use and faultless.

    very good product, very much recommended over a sky box.

    very easy to use. bought so dont have to pay rip off sky for crappy stuff I never get to watch anyway. superb picture quality+recording features. well preferred to any other freeview or freesat I have seen. Only one con,, hard drive could be bigger, but planning to upgrade it soon. money well spent.

    Does what it says it does extremely well.

    This is my third box, bought because I have found it to be a reliable and easy to use product, delivering FreeSat with excellent picture and sound quality and program recording is spot on. It is a very quite unit generating little hard disc noise. Also works well in Spain where the satellite signal is quite weak. Whilst this unit has a relatively smallhard drive I find it more than adequate for everyday use and have rarely reach 50% so not worth paying more for a larger drive.

    Humax HD Freesat the best one on the market. I think so

    This box is quite simply superb. Ease of installation and use is exceptional. Picture quality both in upscaling and actual HD is better if anything than Sky. Lot better than Freeview quality but with more channels available. Only slight flaw is the time that it takes to upload information for recording and series link. You try to hit record without looking first to see if guide information has been loaded on screen and you have not got record sorted as it is still waiting. This may be Freesat rather than the Humax box as I have no experience of other makes of boxes to compare. Still not instant as with with Sky though. If you want Freesat do not go for anything else even though it is one of the most expensive units. You really will not be dissapointed.
