But just when the gang appears to be headed to freedom, Steve performs a heist of his own, killing John and running off with the gold, thinking that Charlie and his mates are all deceased. A year later, Charlie has located Steve, who is gradually selling off the gold bars in Los Angeles. With the help of John's beautiful daughter Stella (Charlize Theron), a brilliant safecracker in her own right--as well as those adorable Mini Cooper sports cars--Charlie orchestrates a revenge heist that will teach Steve a valuable lesson about loyalty once and for all.

    A great name

    I seen this movie when I was 12 years old I've been looking for it ever since I first watched this movie on a VHS tape I am now 21 years old and I finally got my hands on what DVD movie I have forgot the name of this movie for 21 years I have searched and searched and searched trying to remember how these actors faces looked like and never giving up I finally bought one The Italian Job is now mine movie and you had to pry it from me from my cold dead hands

    Fantastic cast - so-so movie

    Watching the previews, I remember thinking "This is my kind of movie!". I was looking forward to a movie like this with such a great cast. Sadly, the movie just seemed to move along too slow for my taste. Also, even with a great cast, some of the lines come off as "not quite right" - the chemistry just didn't seem to be there. This is not really a bad movie - it does have its moments - but without the expected chemistry between the cast members, it does leave you wanting more. Bottom Line: Rent this if need be... watch it once.. and move on. It's simply not worthy of purchasing for repeat viewing.

    love it!

    This is one of my favorite movies and is also a movie night favorite! The only downside that I see for this movie is that you have to be listening all the time because every moment of the movie is crucial if you are going to understand and be able to follow it....so no talking! :) It keeps you interested and the story line is good, though we find ourselves rooting for thieves.....cause they are the good guys...how does that work? Overall great movie!
