Ordered a video game console. Even though it was listed as parts only, I still expected it to be better packaged then just loose in a used bubble mailer with no additional protection. Bubble mailers are designed for flexible objects that can go through rollers, not consoles. The seller also charged me double what the shipping label cost. No way did that other half go to packing materials since again, it was a used bubble mailer, nothing else. Unknown if this caused more damage then described.

Nice monitor, but high potential for early power supply failure
I have about ten of these monitors at various locations, and my clients have all been happy with the image quality. The only problem is that some of these monitors have the dreaded faulty capacitors in the power supply, and will therefore fail prematurely. If you Google "1905FP capacitors" you will see the extent of the problem. There are numerous sources for capacitor repair kits for $15, but replacing those components requires soldering equipment and skills. And you need to be adept at getting stubborn plastic cases open! If it were not for the cap problem I would recommend this as a decent mid-range monitor. Because many 1905FP units DO have bad caps, I would suggest you look elsewhere for a used or refurbished display.I have about ten of these monitors at various locations, and my clients have all been happy with the image quality. The 19in. LCD retains the basic look and flexible design of its predecessors -- although the stand feels a bit sturdier -- and it offers the same height adjustment range of about 13cm. It also smoothly tilts, swivels and rotates from Portrait to Landscape mode. You can lock the monitor at its lowest height position and remove the panel from the pillar by pressing a release button, which makes this display easy to transport and store. A rubber sleeve on the back of the neck neatly holds all cables. Finally, the 1905FP retains some nice extra features, ... Text looked crisp well beyond the range of typical font sizes. Its sharpness matches that of the NEC MultiSync LCD1960NXi. In colour performance, it beat or matched all other competitors, save Eizo's professional-grade ColorEdge CG18. On our DisplayMate-based greyscale tests, we noticed a slight green tint in the darkest shades and a slight pink hue in the lightest. These colour flaws are less pronounced than on most LCDs and shouldn't bother most users. Graphics aficionados, however, should note that we saw mildly washed-out midtone colours in some digital photos we viewed. Still, the 1905FP offers above-average image quality when compared to other similarly priced displays. As is common for LCDs, the 1905FP had trouble displaying a true black, although it was quite deep for an LCD. In our informal DVD-viewing test, performance was about average on the dark end of the greyscale. We could discern fairly dark tones but did miss some shadow details on the DVD. On the light end, we could distinguish very pale greys against a white background. This indicates that the monitor displays subtle shadings well at the bright end, as you might find in editing brightly lit photos or in viewing exuberantly designed Web pages featuring light text on a colored background. We saw minimal streaking in motion tests but noticed some noise and oversaturated colours. Dell offers a standard three-year warranty and lifetime technical support via telephone and e-mail. Our one gripe on support is that Dell no longer includes a full printed manual, but it does ship an adequate setup poster. And it includes a detailed manual in electronic form on a bundled CD and on its Web site.

We have not had any dead pixels in any of the monitors, which is more than you can say for some brands. Brightness is never a problem, and the included USB port is especially useful. I highly recommend the 1905FP as a general-purpose home or office monitor. In my opinion the size is just right -- I wouldn't want to use anything bigger on a daily basis. I do recommend installing the Windows XP Powertoy called "cleartype, which makes it easier to read text at the high resolution supported by this monitor. Also, right click on your desktop, select the tab called "appearance," and at the bottom in "font ... a really nice product. price was right!
i bought this to upgrade my system. i like the size screen, the thinness of the monitor, the picture quality is without a doubt awesome! how did i not have one of these before? the price was right too. it even has a warrenty. i di have some black spots (actually gray) in upper right corner. seller made good on that tho. again....the quality of the picture is beautiful. i highly recommend this monitor!i bought this to upgrade my system. i like the size screen, the thinness of the monitor, the picture quality is without a doubt awesome! how did i not have one of these before? the price was right too. it even has a warrenty. i di have some black spots (actually gray) in upper right corner. seller made good on that tho. again....the quality of the picture is beautiful. i highly recommend this monitor!
