Product Information

The first licensed hockey game for Wii offers you the chance to skate with your favorite pro stars using a combination of analog and motion-sensitive controls. Both wrist shots and slapshots are initiated by swinging your arm forward, while passing is simplified by aiming a cursor at the intended recipient with the Wii Remote. One-timers and chain passes can be set up in advance using this method of pointing and clicking, or a more traditional method can be used, depending on your preferences. Other motion-controlled actions include goaltending and fighting, with the latter using the Nunchuk to punch and the Wii Remote for balance. Game types include many of the same options found in earlier titles in the acclaimed NHL 2K series, from season and franchise play to practice sessions and pond hockey.

    NHL 2K9 (Wii) is a fantastic game

    I received this for Christmas and I love it. It definently takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will probably love it. It has plenty of options, with pond hockey, mini-rink hockey, coaching abilities, management abilities, and playing options. There is even an option to drive the Zamboni around during intermissions. The announcers can become repititive and the music can be too. The theme from "Cops" is played after every penalty call and can get old quickly. Take control of your team by signing and trading players, sending them to the minors, or calling them up to the NHL. Facial details of the players are not anything special, but the fact the goalies have the same masks in the games as they do in reality is very cool. During shootouts you control the ...

    great game...can't get him off the Wii now!!

    Very realistic game. It's like watching a real game. A little confusing to play at first, but after a few hours of trying different moves it got a little better. Not for someone with poor hand eye coordination, have to use both the controller and the nun chuck...pushing buttons on one, while shaking the other. It too confusing for me, but my husband loves it.

    NHL 2K9 (Wii)

    This is an excellent game. The players are responsive to the controls and my kids have a lot of fun with it. They enjoy the ability to set their own period time limits to fit their play time. It took a little getting used to the passing and shooting but once they got the hang of it, it has been great. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Hard to play

    Game is skipping and very hard to play. This was the evaluation from my 5 year old Grandson that we bought the game for) Bentley

    fun game with ok graphics

    The game play and shooting with wii remote are fun but the controls do take a little getting used to because you use both hands. Once you get the hang of it's fun and easy to play. The graphics are lacking a little but if your a hockey fan you should like this game. I like the wrist and snapshots with the wii remote.
