    Great puzzle-platformer with killer music

I bought this game specifically for the awesome opening theme song, but little did I know that the whole soundtrack was pretty catchy as well. The gameplay is also equal amounts fun as it is challenging; none of the puzzles ever feel unfair or unsolvable, which is fantastic, especially since games from this era normally like to be incredibly difficult just for the sake of it. The whole package comes together to truly make a unique and memorable experience for anyone looking to play some old games on the classic NES system.

  • Solstice, an amazing puzzle game!

Hi, I'd like to tell you about Solstice, a Nintendo 8-bit game I bought for my console. Nostalgic as I am, I am trying to buy all the NES games I had when I was a kid back in the 80s and early 90s. Solstice were one of these, and it is one of my favourite puzzle/magic/exploration games of all time! To be honest though, I could never finish this game as a kid, cause it might be one of the hardest games ever made. It never got the best reviews just because of this problem, but I personally think it deserved better. One of the things you are going to notice whilst playing this game is the awesome music composed for this game, one of the best 8 bit tunes made, and I should know since I am a huge fan of 8-bit music. You will also notice the interesting story to the game, the great details ...

  • Solstice -- A Game to Remember!

Solstice: The Quest for the Staff of Demnos is an isometric "3D" perspective fantasy-themed puzzle-solving adventure game for Nintendo Entertainment System. Developed by Software Creations (Mike Webb, programmer; Mark Wilson, graphics; Tim Follin, composer) in 1990, it was released in North America for NES via CSG Imagesoft. The vivid box and cover artwork was painted by Mike Winterbauer. The game has over 250 rooms to explore, dozens of enemies, and hundreds of puzzles. Play as Shadax the good wizard who must enter the cursed Kastlerock to gather the six pieces of the Staff of Demnos in order to defeat the evil wizard Morbius who has kidnapped the princess Eleanor. Magic items and potions help with the adventure along the way. This was an amazing game when released, and holds up well to ...
