About this product

Product Information

Sydney Pollack directs Tom Cruise in this fast-paced legal thriller based on John Grisham's best-selling novel. Lured by extraordinary financial perks, Mitch McDeere, a young and hungry Harvard Law student, turns down offers at the top law firms to take a position at a small but wealthy Memphis firm. Mitch, a boy from the wrong side of the tracks fueled by ambition and greed, ignores his wife Abby's initial misgivings about the suspiciously paternalistic practices of his new employers. It's only when two of his fellow lawyers die in a mysterious accident that Mitch begins to share her apprehensions. He then launches an investigation into the true nature of the firm and discovers that it is a front for a complex and sinister web of organized crime, one from which no lawyer has managed to escape alive. Solid storytelling and fine performances bring this seemingly improbable situation straight into reality.

Tom Cruise has always been a favorite to watch even when on VHS in 1993. High society tycoons search for a young newbe to join the ranks but firm tactics keep employees close at hand. And when those employees try to leave they end up murdered. Interest and adventure plus action, whats going to happen next. Actors/actress, the FBI, a handful of employees from past get murdered by the security company hired by The Firm. Mitch McDeere his Harvard Law degree will not match a small Memphis Firm. • Too good to be true? But, what would you do?

You have got to love John Grisham, as I love his style of putting a story together can keep you busy for a time that draws on your private times with your family, kids, and chores. "The Firm", eh? Made me grin, several times.Things are coming...quickly! Here's Mitch McDeere, just out of Harvard , 3rd in his class, owing money to the U.S.GVMT. for most , if not all of his costs of his four-[4] years in Harvard, and he never let up as "Abby" , his wife, and their pet dog, struggled through the whole affair of studying and taking every minute of the days that were avail. to do so, as he knew he would be rewarded, after all, he's a "believing" type, who knows that all things come back to visit you, both good & evil. He has "Bendini","Blah-blah & "Blah" of Tn. romancing him like a $1000.00 ...
