GRAVE DIGGER´s The Clans Will Rise Again is a rollicking, high-octane, powerful collection of down-and-dirty Power Metal numbers. This album is a strong heavy, true metal album with a very hymnic, epic touch and historically inspired lyrics. This is a loose sequel to the Tunes Of War album, this time it's about Scottish history. It's all loud, aggressive guitars with copious double kicks and tremendous bass work that will have your fist in the air. This is 'DIGGER's best album since Rheingold, if not better. This stuff sounds fresh and filled with catchy riffs and melodies. The new axeman, Axel is a great addition to the band. He fits there like a glove and just spits out pure metal riffs and solos all over the album. Chris on vocals does a great job. He keeps his voice in the lower and ... The backing vocals-gang does a great job and absolutely lifts the choruses an extra level. GRAVE DIGGER makes a really tight performance as usual. Stefan is playing tight. He does solid work throughout. Among the heavy stompers, Rebels is one of my favourites. It's fast and riff-y, variating tempos and has the album's best guitar solo. Valley Of Tears is another amazing tune with rocking riffs and verses and one hell of a catchy chorus. It's a song with fresh ideas ! Coming Home is a really cool song with its awesome intro, steady and groovy tempo and its epic chorus. (The Piper MacLeod makes a nice introduction to it). The bonus track When Rain Turns To Blood is another great, simple and rocking tune worth mentioning. The Clans Will Rise Again delivers consistent, intense and catchy heavy metal material. This is an excellent album.
