This high-tech device allows musicians to create their own unique sound by taking parts of sounds from different amplifiers and blending them together. It's a true powerhouse of sound built to give you hours of effects right out of the box with virtually no setup time. The foot switches and signal chain features make this product easy to use in performances, and its weight of 10 pounds makes it convenient to carry to gigs. The most impressive features of the GNX4 are its modeling capabilities. Using DigiTech's GenetX technology, you can morph two amp models to create a hybrid amp that combines tonal components present in both amplifiers. You can even combine your hybrid models with others to create even more unique combinations. If you get tired of the electric guitar options, try out the acoustic guitar simulator and bass amps.A variety of effects can be used, including pitch-shifting, noise gate, chorus and modulation, reverb, delay, wah, and compression. There are also many different types of classic distortion available. It includes numerous presets for those looking to plug in and sound great immediately. If you have a favorite guitarist, you may even be able to find a preset that allows you to emulate their exact tonal style. In addition to the 80 factory preset memories the workstation has available, you can store up to 80 more by installing your own Type 1 Compact Flash card. For ease of use during live performances, the unit comes with seven foot switches and an accessible expression pedal. Thanks to its cabinet-modeling capabilities, you can use the balanced XLR outputs to connect it directly to a PA system. When you output the audio to your computer, you can choose between multiple options, including mono, stereo with effects, and bypassing effects. The GNX4 includes a high-quality XLR phantom-powered microphone that you can use to lay down vocal tracks. To complete your act, try using the MIDI drum machine to get rhythms going while you record some screaming riffs. Any sounds you capture with the included 8-track recorder can be used for live recording via the USB connection or saved onto your own Compact Flash memory card for later transfer to your personal computer. Once you're ready to edit and complete a song you've recorded using the GNX4, the included DAW software and editor-librarian software are all you need to get started. Pro Tracks Plus is ready to use with a PC, and Mac owners can take advantage of the Bias Deck software. The unit's drivers also work with Cakewalk's Sonar 4 and Project 5 as well as Mac programs such as Apple GarageBand, Logic Pro 7.1, and MOTU Digital Performer 4.52. The package includes an external power supply and a USB connector.         Evaluation of Digitech GNX4 guitar workstation.

        I owned the exact item & model # which I purchased 9 years ago. I bought it brand new from Guitar Center, xtra foot pedals, I also bought. DigitwithGNX4 is Top of the line, loaded with more than you will ever use. That is why we are still buying & using a 10 yr old model. Can't go wrong- owning a GNX4. Top of the Line.

        Great unit that has escaped attention for a long time.

        I've been using this unit since they first came almost 20 years ago. It was way ahead of its time and not many knew how to use it at its fullest. Yes, there some newer and very expensive units out there that are better. How much better? Not enough to warrent 2k plus price tag! Guitarists who come to my shows are always looking for my guitar amp. They NEVER fail to be surprised when they find that I run the GNX4 direct into the front of the house p.a.

        Love these pedals

        It’s 2020 and I still love this pedal. I’m on my 4th one. They are poorly manufactured but the vintage sounds are amazing. I know every possible setting on this pedal. I’ll always keep one on hand.
