Even fans alreadyfamiliar with earlier editions of the bestselling exposé will treasure this gorgeous deluxe edition.  Joe Levy at Rolling Stone calls The Dirt"without a doubt . . . the most detailedaccount of the awesome pleasures and perils of rock & roll stardom I haveever read. It is completely compelling and utterly revolting.", The most influential, enduring, and iconic metal band of the 1980's reveals everything a tell-all of epic proportions. This unbelievable autobiography explores the rebellious lives of four of the most influential icons in American rock history. Mötley Crüe was the voice of a barely pubescent Generation X, the anointed high priests of backward-masking pentagram rock, pioneers of Hollywood glam, and the creators of MTV's first "power ballad." Their sex lives claimed celebrities from Heather Locklear to Pamela Anderson to Donna D'Errico. Their scuffles involved everyone from Axl Rose to 2LiveCrew. Their hobbies have included collecting automatic weapons, cultivating long arrest records, pushing the envelope of conceivable drug abuse, and dreaming up backstage antics that would make Ozzy Osbourne blanch with modesty. Provocatively written and brilliantly designed, this book includes over 100 photos, many never before published, for the most exciting and insightful look ever into the Crüe., Now a Netflix original movie starring Machine Gun Kelly, Daniel Webber, Douglas Booth, and Iwan Rheon, directed by Jeff Tremaine. "Without a doubt, it is the most detailed account of the awesome pleasures and perils of rock & roll stardom I have ever read. It is completely compelling, and utterly revolting, full of blood, leather, eyeliner, heroin, and, oh yes, the glam metal that made the Eighties...the Eighties."--Joe Levy, Rolling Stone Celebrate thirty years of the world's most notorious rock band with the deluxe collectors' edition of The Dirt --the outrageous, legendary, no-holds-barred autobiography of Mötley Crüe. Can't put it down (well-written, intriguing), but it's a hard read content-wise....

I'm an old guy who grew up listening to Motley Crue music. So when I saw the Netflix Original movie "The Dirt" I really wanted to read the book. Maybe it's my age...but I found the book so far (I'm a third of the way through) to be an extremely hard read content-wise. Well written, intriguing, insightful, but a gut-wrenching, hard, sometimes nauseating read. I'd read Hammer of the Gods (Led Zeppelin), but that in no way prepared me what was inside The Dirt. After watching the movie, I found myself connecting more with Mick Mars (the "old guy" in the band, albeit only by three-four years, maybe?). And I sympathized with Nikki Sixx for what he went through as a child and adolescent. But how those experiences shaped Nikki into the person he became was hard to read. At the end of the ...

maybe the best Bio I have read, and I've read a lot. They don't hold back about the drugs and craziness. truly decadent band indulging in the 80's. Makes me love them even more for their honesty. Nikki seems cool, but Mick Mars is the man.
