    Seemed to smooth out my idle

    I decided to replace all my coils (3) because the car was having a rough idle and I was getting thermostat error codes. Symptoms reminded me of a problem I had last year when it got cold during winter. Replaced one coil last year when I encountered severe misfires. That solved the misfire and temperature problem and cleared the thermostat and misfire error (P0128 and P0300). Figuring that the same problem was redeveloping again this year, I decided to replace all coils with new AC Delco coils. I noticed that the idle seemed to calm down to a purr. I also ended up replacing the thermostat as I was still getting intermittent err code P0128, which was the same symptom I got last year before the misfires. Car runs almost like brand new now. I won't be sure until I go through another ...

    AC Delco Ignition Coils for 3.8 v6

    I had purchased a Pontiac Grand Prix with 220,000 miles. After a few months of running it (it is really good shape for that many miles, uses no oil) I started having misfires. After testing, I found the #3/6 coil was weak. One had been replaced, but it looked like with an used coil. The other, original. I figured at this price, I should just change all three. So, I did, along with new plugs and plug wires. Man, what a difference. No misfires, no cutouts, just runs beautifully. Starts easier, idles great, accelerates great. Just what I needed. Highly recommended.

    Back on the road.

    I tried to use aftermarket coils on my Chevy when one coil went bad. The car had random misfire issues, so I went back to the OEM coils. The car runs great again, no misfires and good gas mileage.
