      Mercury Quicksilver remote control

      Great product, good fit, easy install, perfect match. Needs more info on wiring to trim gauge, still working on that. Every thing works great, trim works gauge does not but just a matter of finding the correct wire.

      Someone dropped the ball.

      I purchased this to replace my old one. My center console saltwater series is a port side mount. As soon as I opened the users manual it walks you through changing the remote box to a port side mount.... word for word. I get the throttle and shift cables hooked up to it and place the cover back on so I can install the shift arm.... not happening. Someone at the factory didn’t put threads in the hole for the bolt. So in turn the shift arm falls right back off. Guys come on. In turn I had to go buy a bit to thread the hole for the bolt. Apparently there is no QC on these things. Save your $$$ and stick to a local marine.

      Waist of time.

      Biggest complaint is the instructions are terrible, i spent more time having to research wiring diagrams and chasing wires on this box then anything and found out the “push key in for choke” didn’t work, had to splice into the main cable and run it on a separate toggle switch. Hours later once I figured out the wiring I put the boat in the water and went to reverse off the trailer and motor shifts into reverse but control only moves half a inch in reverse and motor won’t rev. Pulled it out of the water and back to the garage to once again waist time figuring out what’s stopping it and found a bolt and a nut inside the control box which is adjustable for how far the lever goes into reverse. Once again red through the instructions and didn’t mention one thing about it. Don’t screw with this ...
