Strange Defect
I have now owned four used sets of Smallville Season 6 DVDs and every one of them has been defective. The first was included in a used complete seasons 1-10 set, where seasons 5,6,&7 were defective. I replaced season 5 with a used one in which every episode played flawlessly. All four season 6 sets had from 3-4 discs that didn't load and several additional episodes that froze. Disc #1 of every S6 DVD set played perfectly. There must be some sort of defect in Smallville season 6 DVDs. I have tried two season 7 DVD sets and both were defective. I have a fifth season 6 ordered and a third season 7 on the way. If these don't work out either, I will have to buy a new complete Smallville TV series and hope it functions. When people hear the name Clark Kent, the image that comes to mind is a grown man with glasses who turns into a cape-donning superhero at a moments notice. Rarely do people think about how he came to be a superhero. What if Clark didn’t have great parents who taught him right from wrong? What if Clark had grown up as Lionel Luthor’s son? The dvds were of poor quality
I would not rate this product as very good. The best would be poor to fair. The dvd’s were damaged and unplayable in some areas. There were many scratches on the discs that caused the playback to freeze in many instances. All discs were affected. It made it difficult to follow the story line.

Smallville Sixth Season and Start of the Justice League
I have loved Superman since my childhood (and I am almost 60 now!), and this show offers a unique look at the influences that shaped the "Man of Steel." It is based on the life of young Clark Kent as he is growing up in Smallville, Kansas. In this season, he is in his early 20's and has developed many contacts at the Daily Planet, where he will eventually work. It's quite true to the comic version, and who wouldn't believe that this guy (Tom Welling) fell out of the sky! He's certainly heavenly. In this season Clark takes some giant steps toward becoming the superhero he is destined to be. There is even a segment in which he is given a red cape! Great fun to watch over and over, as there are many subtle references to Clark's future work that are ... I also chose this collection because it is the beginning of the Justice League, which features Superman and a host of other fascinating super heroes working together to serve the world. In this season most of the League's characters are together for one episode, and I loved the long shot of them walking away from the Luthor plant, which is in flames behind them. Can you tell I love my purchase? Great stories, good believeable characters, fine music--and easy on the eyes, too. What more could you ask?
