Just In The Nick Of Time!
I got this diagnostic device just in the nick of time! As an Uber and Lyft driver, I find myself all over town. Within a week of receiving and installing it, I was over 40 miles from home, when the engine started running rough, for no apparent reason. Since the OBD-II was already plugged-in and the app installed, I found out that the #5 cylinder was misfiring. Upon inspection, I found that the #5 spark plug wired had been rubbing against the steering column, which wore a hole through the insulator jacket. Some electrical tape and Gorilla tape around the steering column, and I have been good to go ever since! Unfortunately, this is a bait and switch switch. They give you some basic info for free, but most needed features like the "reset light" need the $5 a month subscription to really function as advertised. Had to do it the old fashion way, take the battery cable off to reset the light. It did tell me what the basic issue was, so I did get something out of the effort. Oh well, got what I paid for I guess.Unfortunately, this is a bait and switch switch. Why buy if you have to buy an upgrade after purchase.
I am a naive man, I don’t know much about these gadgets. And just to try to set up the unit I took me a while. And finally I work it out. And connect it. To find out it dose not connect to the ECU. AND TO BUY AND UPGRADE TO PRO. PROBABLY FOR IT TO WORK. I want to return the unit.
