      Works great with a little hot hand from time to time.

      Does just what it should and my bacon cooking has improve as a result. My only complaint is the wooden handle has metal on each end which gets just as hot as the shoe plate resting on the bacon. Once you get used to grabbing the unit JUST in the middle of the wooden handle you'll have no problems and be quite satisfied with it's performance.

      Warning - Contains Lead

      The price difference between this aluminum press and a cast iron was substantial. But I wish I had paid extra for the cast iron. I was quite shocked to find a California Prop Warning sticker on the press, advising of the presence of lead in this item. Why would lead be in a solid, cast aluminum piece? Apparently lead is added to make the metal more pliable! Imagine this, on an item that is used for food! This was not mentioned in the listing either, only on the sticker applied to the retail packaging. Now I will have to look for a decent price on a cast iron press.

      Perfect!

      Perfect size, perfect look and perfect feel for my home kitchen. I’ve been wanting one of these for my home kitchen for some time now. I was distracted and therefore didn’t get it. Finally, I decided to purchase one (price not bad at all). I did not expect the quality workmanship that it is. It’s made for a restaurant kitchen. I’m so excited.       Bacon Press...Paperweight

      Too large to fit in a skillet. Will fit a grill.1/4 plate steel..warped like they all are because of too thin metal. I use it to flatten paper towels against meat and fish when drying before searing. Workx great. Would probably work well for intended purpose.
