    Still the best.

    X has been the most beloved Los Angeles band since the very beginning mixing punk, folk, rockabilly, alternative, rock; etc. It's been many, many moons but I've yet to hear a band that can match the songs played & performed by these underground icons. "The Hungry Wolf" opens this release & is an all out slammer. Then thrashes into "Motel Room in my Bed" which doesn't slow down the pace. Once you get through that assault comes "Riding With Mary" where they show the right way to play an alternative-style song before that term was even used. This statement also applies to the closer "The Have-nots". They then shift into the ballad "Come Back to Me" which is very heartfelt in the way Exene delivers vocally. A sincere song about her deceased sister. "Dancing With Tears in my Eyes" flirts with ...
