    Hard Boiled Sleeper

    I've read Brando didn't respect the director on this film: Hubert Cornfield, (near the end of production Richard Boone took over the direction) and would rather have left the project--interesting connection considering his character would like to do the same in the story. The Night of the Following Day: a kidnapping and ransom plan that falls apart piece by piece for its perpetrators. All the actors are excellent, but stand-out performances: Rita Moreno as Brando's junkie lover plays her tormented role with great emotional vigor and Richard Boone is spot on as one creepy cat on the prowl. Brando is the character the audience can hang onto to sort out this nasty caper's fate. The ending is a let down and the weakest point of the film. The script either didn't ...

    Calssic Brando.

    I heard about the movie on the radio. A Sports reporter was raving about it. He was right. Very minimalist and stylized with great performances. It's a classic DVD. Better than most movies available now.
