      Play okay, but the sound is weak

      Mechanically, these strings are fine, easy to set up and play. However, the sound quality is poor. The treble is tinny. The bass has little presence and you really have to dig it out (I'm primarily a finger picker). There is little sustain. I don't have a lot of experience with coated strings; perhaps this is normal for them. Overall, a disappointment. That said, I like some of the other Ernie Ball strings. I think the Earthwood series is great and is probably my favorite string at the moment (in the past I've used primarily D'Addario and Martin).
