    Great recording of a great musical

    This is an excellent Broadway, quality recording of an excellent show. Every song is a hit. In addition, the authors, one of whom is Andrew Lloyd Webber, wrote some songs in different styles just for the fun of it. There is a calypso song, steel, drum song, a French song, a cowboy song, and even an Elvis Presley song. I think they wrote this when they were in school and then flushed out a couple of more songs when I went to Broadway. Every song is great and this is a really, very nice product. For those of you who are religious and strict, this is exactly the story of Joseph from Genesis in the Bible, and it will not offend anyone.

    The best cast!

    This is the cast that has Laurie Beechman as the narrator. She had such an amazing voice. I saw this production on Broadway w/ this cast when I was 11 years old & it was a moment. I can still remember watching from the audience. I think it was the last of the original (Golden age) Broadway shows before all the special effects came along.

    Timeless music

    this was the original recording with laurie beecham as the narrator. It is hard to find more modern incarnations with classically trained singers. Normally you get the popped up version which takes so much away from this classic. The music keeps you on your feet and is a great starter for someone who is testing the waters of musical theatre.
