About this product

Product Information

Released in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the hugely influential Nintendo Entertainment System console (which first appeared in Japan as the Famicom, in 1984), the "Classic NES Series" of Game Boy Advance cartridges present accurate versions of original NES games, for play on the handheld.

First released at a time when puzzle games were flooding the market, Dr. Mario stood out as one of the best, combining a smooth learning curve, playful graphics, and memorable tunes. Mario tosses vitamin capsules made of red, yellow, and blue halves into a bottle filled with viruses of the same three colors. The player must rotate and move the capsules into place to clear the bottle of these nasty creatures. Viruses and capsules disappear when four of the same color are aligned, either vertically or horizontally.

Arrived safely and in excellent condition! Seller even contacted me to make sure I understood it was just the case with the cover that I'm buying and not getting the game CIB (complete in box) and even offered a refund if I wasn't aware. I messaged back to assure him that I understood, and why I needed the case. He understood and shipped it promptly. I appreciate him being conscientious of his customers like that.

So happy to have a classic in hand again!

I have one of the original Nintendo DS devices and while I've been tempted to upgrade so I can download classics I love (like Dr. Mario), I hesitate because mine is still in great shape! I finally decided to try out cartridges that were meant for the Advance model Gameboys and IT WORKS! I am so happy! It arrived quickly, works great and has me totally addicted just like when I was a kid! Thank you!!! :)

  • Top critical review

This new Advance generation of Dr Mario is not nearly as good as the previous generation of Dr Mario. The actual game is smaller on the screen.

The graphics on this new Advanced generation of Dr Mario makes the pills smaller and harder to see than previous versions of this game. Very disappointing.

  • Hats off to Dr. Mario....ADVANCE

Even though Mario spent most of his time dealing with plumbing problems and saving the princess, he somehow managed to get his degree in medicine. Your task....help destroy the viruses. Most Tetris players may find it similar to it. Dr. Mario is extremely similar to Tetris II. Originally for NES, Nintendo decided to re-release it for Gameboy Advance, seeing that Dr. Mario one of those games that has been a constant for Nintendo owners. Gameplay: 10/10 Dr. Mario is completely addictive! If you love the Tetris series, no doubt you'll be hooked in minutes. Graphics: 7.5/10 There are three different background patterns depending on the speed setting that you chose. Though nothing too fancy, there are some fun things. Sound: 6/10 Besides a few choices of music, the sound is what one ...

  • An Oldie But a Goodie!

I used to play Dr. Mario on the original Nintendo console when I was younger. I was very excited to find it for Game Boy Advance! It's very addictive and, in my opinion, much better than Tetris. I would love to be able to save my progress, but a lot of older games are like that and the original Mario Brothers game is the same way. I'm not much of a gamer but I do love my Mario Brothers! Dr. Mario is an awesome choice and provides a ton of fun.

  • If you love Tetris, you'll love Dr. Mario!!

I bought Dr. Mario because I remembered playing the game as a kid and while browsing thru a list of all the GBA games; I saw Nintendo made this one. I wished Nintendo would've embraced the idea of making MORE old NES games for the GBA, other than the few select that they chose to make. But, if you want old NES games, I guess you have to get them on the Wii Virtual Console. There is nothing to dislike about the product. I bought it, it works. No need for an instruction booklet. I don't consider myself a gamer or a collecter, so there was no need for the box and whatnot.
