    Good quality changeover switch

    I live in the country and lose electric several times a year. If you own a portable generator this is a must have. It's nice to have water when the lights go out, and this switch allows that. It's fairly easy to install, if you have some electrical skills. If you don't this is better left to a professional.

    Sufficient for the task but with marginal switches.

    This transfer switch is generally of good quality and the wire markings are very good for circuit identification. However, the number of wires in the 10 circuit version are a tight fit in 1" conduit, which is the largest size of the provided knockouts and the "GEN"-"OFF"-"LINE" toggle switches are not the best quality. One of the ten did not make contact on the Line side and needs to be replaced. the method of fastening the switch bezel to the deadfront is not as secure as it should be in my opinion.

    Great item !!

    The only way to hook up a generator to your house or shop !! This is a GREAT item, works great . Safe for you and your power company too. Everybodyy with a generator should have one. Easy to install, my wife can work it if i am not home !!

    Not 50 Amp

    I bought this because it's supposedly a 50 amp circuit but unfortunately it's a 20 amp circuit I took it apart and replace the 20 amp dual pole fuse with a 50 amp dual pole breaker and had to replace the wires to take the amperage of 50 amps the wires for the Dual pole wear 12-gauge I replaced them with 6 gauge and now I have my own 50 amp circuit. Not to mention I had to replace the generator feed wires to 6 gauge as well obviously. The previous gauge I believe for the feed wires were 10 gauge.
