A console appropriate for a rack mounted implementation, is one where the console represents one keyboard, video monitor, and mouse (KVM) attached to a server. The family of console switches create by Hewlett Packard allows multiple servers in the rack to be accessed and managed by one keyboard, one monitor, and one mouse, saving you space, time, and money. As many as 256 computers, running different operating systems, can be managed by this rack-mountable KVM switch with PS/2 CAT5 stackable equipment. This switch features an On Screen Display (OCD) interface, which uses intuitive software and menus for accessing each computer attached to the network. The HP Server Console Switches can be connected in a tiered fashion to increase server access from eight to 256 servers. Switching between computers is as easy as typing a command into the keyboard, or by using the mouse to interface with the graphic interface on the selected computer, via the OCD. The 16-port KVM switch PS/2 CAT5 stackable switch allows flexibility, via the dual console support, controlling switch configurations from more than one location or by more than one user. The HP Server Console KVM rack-mountable switch is a perfect type of switch for network administrators, system administrators, engineering managers, or chief information officers. It provides easy access to multiple servers, or any server with a PS/2 or USB I/O connection port. It also offers multi-platform management from one console to another, and the non-intrusive control and management of servers. This HP Server Console KVM 16-port switch is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Novell, UNIX, and Linux. The KVM supports VGA, SVGA, and XGA video modes. It comes with accessories for adapters, such as the USB interface adapter and the PS/2 interface adapter as well as UTP CAT5 cables and KVM cables. KVM extenders are also available if you need a longer cable than what is provided, allowing for future expandability of your switch. Protecting your individual computers and your network solutions is important to Hewlett Packard and they provide many security features, such as password protection to protect against unauthorized users. The HP Server Console KVM rack-mountable 16-port switch is an excellent way to link the computers together on a network, as well as improve your management, by making it easy to manage your network.
