Der TP-Link TLWN822N ist ein USB – Gerät zum Aufbau einer WLAN – Verbindung. Dabei besitzt das Gerät zwei externe Rundstrahlantennen, was ihn deutlich höhere Reichweiten als ein normaler WLAN – Stick erzielen lässt und somit sehr hohe Datenraten erzeugt. Damit ist dann auch HD – Videostreaming oder Videotelefonie problemlos möglich, insofern die Internetverbindung dies zulässt. Die maximale Datenrate des Geräts beträgt bis zu 300 Mbit pro Sekunde nach dem IEEE802.11n Standard und das Gerät ist mit verschiedensten Betriebssystemen wie Raspbian oder Windows ab der Version Vista kompatibel. Hierbei wird auch zusätzliche WPS – Unterstützung angeboten.
