    Realistic & disturbing crime drama for adults

    Edgy, disturbing, first-rate crime drama --- the description on the case says it all. The only thing beautiful about this series is the New Zealand scenery. Otherwise, it's bleak. Recommended for adults only. Every character is fascinating, yet flawed. They are all unhappy, and with good reason. Terminal illness, incest, child porn, drug dealing, domestic violence, preteen pregnancy, murder, rape, police corruption, and the casual killing of animals --- all are realistically featured. Sadly, these things happen --- but in real life, many people survive horrific situations and manage to move on, or at least find moments of joy, humor, love, or hope amidst the darkness.     This is a moody, compelling mystery

    This is a complex, moody mystery set in Australia. It reminds me a little of "The Killing" series. Well-acted and interesting.
