Clint Eastwood's BRONCO BILLY is a funny and poignant depiction of one man's quixotic devotion to the code of the Old West and traditional American values. Billy (Eastwood) leads his ragtag crew of performers as they travel the countryside, putting on their bare bones Wild West show for sparse crowds. Billy's not an easy man to work for, and he and his bunch barely make a living, but they are pursuing their dreams. When Antoinette Lily (Sondra Locke, in a somewhat shrill performance), a snooty heiress abandoned by her husband, joins the group, their luck seems to run out, and Billy has to find a way to keep them together. As in THE OUTLAW JOSIE WALES, Eastwood plays the patriarch of an ethnically diverse makeshift family. It would be easy to dismiss Billy, to laugh at his corny devotion to outmoded values and old-fashioned entertainment. Like Eastwood himself, Billy's not even a real cowboy. But, gradually, the audience comes to admire him for his fierce devotion to his crew and his insistence on showing the "li'l pards" in his audience not just a good time but also a dream of striving to live life as who they want to be.

    excellent older movie

    I ordered this video because I like anything circus or related. My wife and I enjoyed watching it especially since I enjoy Clint Eastwood both acting and directing. This was a fun movie and I'm glad I bought it.

    Decent Eastwood Comedy

    The film revolves around "Bronco Billy's Wild West Show", a small traveling Wild West show who play mostly for sparse crowds, the star of which is Bronco Billy McCoy (Clint Eastwood), the "fastest gun in the West." Billy's not an easy man to work for, and he and his bunch barely make a living, but they are pursuing their dreams. When Antoinette Lily (Sondra Locke) a snooty heiress abandoned by her husband, joins the group,because Billy likes the way she looks and hires her as an assistant,their luck seems to run out and everyone blames her for bringing "bad luck" to the show.This is not a bad Eastwood movie,although not one of his best(Clint has been said to mention this movie as one of his favorites though).Clint,as Billy,is a depiction of one man's devotion to the code of the Old West ...

    Great story about the life and times of a cowboy and his crew.

    Saw this movie when it first came out. Over the years, I found myself quoting lines from the movie. It might seem dated, which it is, however, the story itself redeems it from that. Great story, and fun to watch. Foe both adults, and kids...

    Bronco Billy

    I watched this movie today and have no words for it, I am a Clint Eastwood fan and all I can say about this movie I loved every second of it, the clarity was great and so was the audio, this movie came in full screen which I was also very happy about, again all I can say is that if you are a Clint Eastwood fan do not hesitate to purchase this one no matter what the price.
