The AKG 712 Pro has dreadful earpads, but the price here was great for a buy and purchase of replacment pads. Marked "Made in Skovakia" and with visible serial number, these look like the real deal and sound very similar to my old K7XX Massdrop (both need EQ to shine- I use True-Fi). So in other words, this was a great bargain. Thanks!

Overall I'm happy with my experience with this product and X-Pods. As far as I can tell the product is genuine and it sounds great! Shipping time wasn't very fast, but it was perfectly reasonable for shipping from China. One thing that I can tell after looking at the product page and contacting AKG customer support is that the leather headband is not genuine, despite having AKG branding. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing because the first thing to wear is the elastic in the headband.

    Great product, Great Price !

    Wanted this AKG K712 Pro for several years, but could not find at reasonable price. Got this one for only $124, while others were selling for $639 ! Mine came with NO packaging, but appears to be NEW & GENUINE !

    True Bass

    Realistic sound from AKG. The bass is fast and tight, not overly pounding. Most music today is mixed with too much bass. As if there is some kind of bass competition instead of focusing on making quality music.
