Made a point of buying the 32 ohm version so I have ample volume via my USB interface and can even use them with my cellphone. The response curve is not totally flat but emphasizes certain groups of frequencies (mainly the higher ones) which we tend to hear less with age - the net effect is a very crisp and airy sounding earphone that still packs a reasonably good punch in the lows.
