  • Simcity for DS

Hi, I always like sim games, simcity is a goldy oldy for me and I was eager to try this newer version on my DS. It took a little time to get started, but the tutorial was excellent and the controls are easy to master. I liked the 'save the city' games a lot and abandoned building my own metropolis altogether to play the challenges. I would like to see a lot more of them then the featured 5 or so, but I still enjoy every frustrating minute of them. I hope this review helps.

  • Ok, but not top notch by any means.

While I have played and loved almost all of the incarnations of Sim City over the years, this would have to be one of me least favorites. I find it very non-user friendly. It just runs like your playing the original on a new computer that doesn't like how old the program is. Graphics are clunky and don't flow easily. I understand it is a hand held but still, a better job could have been done with layout and design of game. If however, you are on the road and your DS is your only means of gaming and you have a sim city jones then this will suffice

  • SimCity: Its something to do.

First off, this is SimCity. Its just a more elaborate form of the original one. We all know what SimCity is, right? O.k., for the three of you out there who don't know, SimCity is a city planning simulator and probably (barring the rising sun of the "The Sims: Why ruin your own life when you can ruin someone else's?" game) the most famous and well known game in the Sim series. SimCity DS is basically a port of the PC game SimCity 3000, and while 3000 isn't the most recent one (SimCity 4 and SimCity Societies both came afterwards) it was the one that could best be applied to the Nintendo DS's capabilities. An it is a really good port. Some of the more complicated aspects are lost, but overall Its the SimCity we know and love. The difficulties have been toned down a bit, which is nice ...

  • Excellent rendition of the classic city simulation for the handheld market.

This is a really great rendition of SimCity for the DS, much better than I expected. It compares to SC3000 I guess, being "gridlocked" unlike the newest PC game with its curvy roads and stuff. I figured I would just check and make sure it worked and ended up getting stuck on it for a couple hours... and it only cost me $8, very happy with that price, I daresay any SimCity fan would be comfortable paying twice that, maybe even $20.

  • Solid SimCity

I was really impressed by the port to the DS. For SimCity fans out there, this iteration of the series is very similar to SimCity 3000. This game is definitely enjoyable, and some of the fun features of the DS that you use in the minigames are a lot of fun. The stylus system for zoning and constructing buildings is very natural, and I think the graphics are quite nice for a handheld. On the whole, I would say this game is very enjoyable, and won't disappoint fans of the series.
