    Pricey but excellent manual!

    Although I have not yet used this manual for any involved projects, I have great faith that this manual will be extremely helpful to me in the future. Numerous years ago I owned a VW Scirocco (Rabbit variant). The Bentley manual for it helped me to totally avoid going to any outside garage and paid for itself over and over. I have worked as a professional mechanic before I retired, and found the manual to be invaluable to me. So you may not need some parts of the manual if you are not at least an advanced tinkerer, but you probably wouldnt be considering a manual unless you intended to do some maintenance or repair. Although these manuals are intended for professionals, I don't think you'll be disappointed even if you only to intend to change oil and perhaps brake friction ...

    If you plan on working on your Boxster, this should be your first purchase!

    Don't get any other Boxster self help book before this one! I bought the "101 Projects for Your Boxster" book, and then bought this one when the other was using photos from a 996 front hub to guide through changing the rear hub bearings on a 986. This has much more detail, helpful hints and model correct photos (a big plus when changing bearings!).

    Great information for any Boxster owner!

    I think this has saved me a lot of money by giving me good preventative maintenance tips. I find it very useful in diagnosing very quickly what the main issue might be so I can focus on that area and not pay for "what if" parts or tests.

    If Bentley makes a service manual for your car, you are lucky, as now you will be able to do 90% of the maintenance work yourself.
