At the time of release, P A T T O N was one of those movies on par with The Godfather; Ben Hur; or Exodus! It was an instant classic. George C. Scott played the lead role as General George S. Patton. His number two was General Omar C. Bradley, played by Karl Malden. The story and history surrounding these men and the events surrounding their infamous accomplishments are legendary. George Patton's leadership abilities are infamous, as well is his arrogance. He was a grand-stander! He got lots of results, and he usually got them fast, but nobody will ever know if this saved lives or may have cost even more. After Patton slapped a soldier in Sicily, a lesser officer would have probably been court-martialed, but he was only reprimanded. The obvious results was Omar Bradley being named ... I'm sure that General Eisenhower probably was glad to see the last of both of them. This was an excellent movie that was told, I'm sure, from an American perspective. As an American I enjoyed it, but also realize that on screen everything is true, give or take a lie or two!

George C Scott was outstanding in his role as Patton. I strongly urge viewers interested in strong historical military figures to view this movie. Patton was a man of CHARACTER! The viewer will not be disappointed!

A greatest of all time classic movie.
A well written WW 2 movie about a very tough Army general who moved like the wind across Europe to defeat the Nazis. Encountering many obstacles along the way, he didn't allow anything to slow down his mission.
