Great value
Bought used (but like new), item is great value. Even if the CPU is 4 years old, 8th gen Intel is still good enough as it has 4 cores. This also meets Windows 11's minimum requirements to run. T480s in particular is a great model for upgradeability as it has a SODIMM RAM slot, unlike newer TXXXXs series which already have soldered RAM. This also has thunderbolt and USB C so it has modern enough ports, especially for docking. Battery life isn't as good as M1 Macs, but compared to newer Intel laptops, the battery life of the T480s is respectable. It might be a good idea to buy a new replacement battery though, costs less than 50 USD. Just need to make sure the used item is in great shape as it can be a hit or miss depending on the previous user. But it seems lie eBay refurbished items ... Better than I imagined, not as good as I expected.
The laptop arrived late. However, the unpacking and setting up was extremely easy. It functioned in mint condition, and was really smooth. I was particularly impressed by its silence and speed (and the fast type C charging!) However, the battery isn't reliably strong. The laptop is prone to overheating. Thinkpad being Thinkpad, it is a tough device, I just wish it were a bit lighter. Anyways, I got the laptop in near new condition except for some scratches on the bottom. Overall, satisfied is an understatement to describe my experience with the laptop. Thank you :)The laptop arrived late. However, the unpacking and setting up was extremely easy.
