About this product

Product Information

Capcom vs. SNK 2 makes its Xbox debut with an alternate control scheme designed to simplify some of the more complicated moves associated with the PlayStation 2 original. The "EO" in the title stands for Extreme Offense, which results in automatic blocking as well as a character's special and super moves being mapped to the right thumbstick. Instead of tapping multiple buttons while manipulating the directional pad in various positions, players simply flick the analog stick in a single motion to perform the most powerful attacks in the game.

Veteran users can opt for a traditional control method in the six modes of play: Arcade, Versus, Survival, Training, and Color Edit. Players can further customize the fighting by choosing one of six grooves, which enable such actions as performing unlimited super combos when a character's vitality is near zero. Over 40 fighters from both Capcom and SNK's previous fighting games are available to play as or against, with selections from such noted franchises as Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury.

Excellent seller, would not hesitate to buy from again. Item was delivered promptly, and clearly had been handled with care. I used to think it was dumb that you could attach a photo to your feedback, but I think this picture shows exactly how well cared for the item was.

  • Definitely an improvement.

CvS2 builds on its predecessor's questionable legacy with (by and large) better graphics, a larger roster, more options for fighting-style (aka "grooves"), and even the ability to customize a "groove" to your liking. It brings out a few favourites who missed the boat in the first game - most notably for me Gôki, Haômaru, and Rock Howard - and, if you perform especially well during the tournament, has you fight Shin-Gôki or God Rugal as your final opponent. As in the original, each of them has two portraits, with the one actually used in the course of the game depending on which groove they're operating under - the more-cartoonish "CapCom-style" portrait or the more-realistic "SNK-style" portrait. It still does suffer from a few of the original's limitations - mainly less-than-stellar ...

Play against others online on the Xbox Live system; More characters than ever and 6 modes of gameplay; Groove Point System - Points are accumulated through a judgement performance in real-time that is based on the player's game performance; EO for "Extreme Offense" - Players have instant access to devastating special and super moves at the touch of the C stick control; Multiple Game Modes - The game offers six modes of play including arcade mode, versus mode, survival mode, training mode and color edit mode; Over 40 characters from world famous Capcom and SNK franchises, such as Street Fighter, Final Fight, Dark stalkers, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters.

  • A better version.

Upscaling the game to 480p with the component cables was a breeze, controls was on point, gameplay is legit.

  • Capcom/SNK 2 EO

Like the first CvS, this game unites almost all of your favorite characters in a knock-down, drag out brawl. Play control is very similar to any of the Street Fighter games, but close enough to KoF 98 that SNK fans won't be put out. The new EO system (using the second analog stick for specials)is hard to adapt to at first, but with a little practice, it can improve the way you play the game. It's just an option, so if you don't like it, you can select the more classic scheme. I miss the more rendered look of CvS 1, but the addition of Dan to the Capcom side makes this a must-have for any serious gamer.
