About this product

Product Information

FIGHT CLUB is narrated by a lonely, unfulfilled young man (Edward Norton) who finds his only comfort in feigning terminal illness and attending disease support groups. Hopping from group to group, he encounters another pretender, or "tourist," the morose Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), who immediately gets under his skin. However, while returning from a business trip, he meets a more intriguing character--the subversive Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). They become fast friends, bonding over a mutual disgust for corporate consumer-culture hypocrisy. Eventually, the two start Fight Club, which convenes in a bar basement where angry men get to vent their frustrations in brutal, bare-knuckle bouts. Fight Club soon becomes the men's only real priority; when the club starts a cross-country expansion, things start getting really crazy. Like Tyler Durden himself, director David Fincher's FIGHT CLUB, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, is startlingly aggressive and gleefully mischievous as it skewers the superficiality of American pop culture. Outstanding performances by Norton and Pitt are supported by a razor-sharp script and an arsenal of stunning visual effects that include computer animation and sleight-of-hand editing. One of the most unique films of the late 20th century, FIGHT CLUB is a pitch-black comedy of striking intensity.

The Fight Club 2-Disc Release Review

In Disc 1: The movie was so great because it was based on the book. And there was so much Carnage and vandalism that the Narrator and Tyler Durden caused during the night. Disc 2: All of these special features footages were cool and all those upcoming process were excellent, the behind the scenes footages were awesome, deleted and extended scenes were acceptable, different angles were great, trailers and TV spots were cool. And the packaging itself was acceptable, but these 2 disc holders were damaged but no 2 discs itselves damages occurred so it's good. So thank you for delivering this DVD to me, I appreciate this.

  • The Most Subversive Movie So Far of the Century

First of all, this movie was released a year before the terror attacks of 2001, so it has a different attitude about terrorist bombings of buildings than we have post-9/11. If you can get past that, there's a lot to like about this movie. There are moments of excess, exceeding my will to suspend disbelief, but there are just as many moments of storytelling brilliance. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt are at the top of their game, and Helena Bonham-Carter steals many a scene as their shared cigarette-puffing slut. The direction by David Fincher is inspired, and the music by Dust Brothers helps set an edgy mood. This movie will weather well and may even be considered a classic at some point. It's a two-DVD set with lots and lots of supplemental material. There are four feature ...

  • Fight Club

An excellent movie period, Fight Club is great because it explores a growing trend of social dissatisfaction through the decisions and actions of the film's two main characters. Although the violence can become graphic (had to turn away a few times), the plot is mostly psychological and wonderfully thematic. Things to be aware of: strong language, as mentioned already: graphic violence, sexual content, and brief nudity. Even though I usually stick to 'cleaner' movies, I strongly feel that the theme is fantastic enough to make this by far the best movie I have seen all year. If you enjoyed "The Prestige" you will probably enjoy "Fight Club." (If that helps to set a tone) Definitely watch this movie at least once.

  • Don't talk about FIGHT CLUB

I'm going to break the first rule of FIGHT CLUB and talk about FIGHT CLUB. Imagine a movie that's actually ABOUT something, not bare-knuckle boxing or soap making (although both play vital roles), but something more than entertainment or dramatic action or comedy. FIGHT CLUB is all that -- and more. At the center of FIGHT CLUB lurk provocative questions. But the film trusts its audience enough NOT to provide glib answers. And anyway, the questions are much more interesting than their answers. Does your life have meaning? Are you happy? How do you define obedience? Or love? Or identity? Directed by David Fincher and starring Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter, FIGHT CLUB is based on the eponymous 1996 novel by Chuck Palahniuk. The novel is the source of profundity ...

  • I am Jacks dvd collection

An instant classic full of violence philosophy and sex. Very true to the book and full of memorable characters. The two disc dvd collectors edition is the best release thus far. The packaging is several layers of premium printed cardboard. With the motive of a bar of soap wrapped in paper. The two discs contain many interesting character studies and behind the scenes featurettes. Woth lots of documentation and brightly colored pictures this set is the best on the market.
