Good all around. Mostly...
The only thing I didn't like about it was... it's a book set DVD collection, I get that. But, the backing of the DVD's was just tape. So, if you tried taking a DVD from the back, the tape would move and you'd have to fix it. Soooo, the tape will last for only so long and then... you'll be adjusting it to fit. Sooner or later, it's going to die. Regular tape doesn't hold up that well. Otherwise, all the DVD's worked perfectly and was happy with my purchase.The only thing I didn't like about it was... it's a book set DVD collection, I get that. The Grouchy Old Man left something for the Grandchildren's Education..
This, Carlin's Masterpiece, contains all the footage -Alpha thru Omega- that ever mattered to his career as a professional comedian...and not just another dope'r who made the big time & had enough intelligence to survive as he went the entire distance...And I do mean ALL THE FRICKIN WAY MAN! I never paid much attention to this guy until he release "You're All Diseased"...he'd began complaining about the stupid crap people of America were concerned over, felt were important, and he just UNLEASHED! BAM! He lands a H-U-G-E contract with HBO. He keeps touring..Next thing I know I'm paying the ridiculous hundreds of dollars ticket price & had to see him perform in Reno...'laughed so hard I almost fell outta my seat...especially when he began ragging on some of the fat-lazy-stupid-comp'd tix ... This, Carlin's Masterpiece, contains all the footage -Alpha thru Omega- that ever mattered to his career as a professional comedian...and not just another dope'r who made the big time & had enough intelligence to survive as he went the entire distance...And I do mean ALL THE FRICKIN WAY MAN! Nobody was immune, everyone suspect. And like I said, he could and did completely have the high-level clearance required to be one of the very few who've built their reputation well and can be trust not to incite a riot which he could have easily done after ascending the stage anywhere in this later third of his career We're gonna miss this genius of hip....there'll never be anyone like him...and I say he's made the grade with all the world's finest. I just hope his grandchildren do something significant with their lives...George obviously saved release of this for their benefit. It'd be ironic if they all pissed-away the money made off its sales and did nothing with their lives but try to milk every cent from who & what Grandpa was, and will always be. ...and, oh yes, when released this boxed set couldn't be bought for less than $150. A couple years later and its now around $100. In 5-years it will probably be in the $40 to $50. range. And in the, hopefully, distant future it'll be worthless trash left behind to decompose along with the life form that created it as this planet decided to belch, or fart, or whatever...humanity's future involves being fossilized at best.
