Great entertainment
This was a great movie. Excellent martial arts choreography. I'm not a big fan of dubbed movies, I would rather have natural dialogue with subtitles, but a good job was done with this one. Donnie Yen is fantastic. This is a must have for any martial arts fan.

Outstanding martial arts sequences, interesting story!
I first became aware of Donnie Yen's martial arts skills from the movie HERO where he had a memorable spear battle with Jet Li. Outstanding! That was my reason for purchasing IP Man. It is based on the true life experiences of the Chinese master when the Japanese invaded in the late 1930-40's. The showstopper here is Donnie Yen's martial arts battle with the Japanese Kung Fu opponents. Interesting, well-acted. Good Blu ray picture quality (warm, slightly-muted colors) and dynamic sound. Ip Man is the best martial arts movie out there.
I watch a lot of martial arts movies. I tend to like most MA movies, but I appreciate them on different levels. This definitely felt like a throwback to the Bruce Lee movies. Through these similarities you can see how much BL adopted from his master, how much of the philosophy of Wushu goes beyond fighting. It was interesting to learn the history of the Wushu master as well. He was exceptional. The best part of the movie was the fighting. I was blown away. I'm so used to seeing stunts that are obviously not real, artistic yeah, but believable? No. These action sequences are out of this world. Totally realistic, and bad as hell. Bruce Lee plays no part in this movie, but the whole time you are watching where he came from. And it is awesome. To anyone that is a MA enthusiast, this is a ... Great Martial Arts
If you wan to see some of the best martial arts action ever filmed then this movie is for you. Unbelievable true story that will grab you and take you on an epic journey through a story about a man who stood out among unscored others. Highly entertaining.

Surprising Movie
I had this movie for a few months without watching it until one day I was alone at home and popped it in. I have to say that it is not only one of the best martial arts movies I have seen but it is also one of the best movies I have seen a a while period. An unexpected surprise. Can't wait to see IP MAN 2. Also, I am now a Donnie Yen fan. He has Jet Li and Jackie Chan beat big time. ENJOY!
