High Performance. Good Looking. Doesn't eat your money.
I had a low budget and I wanted a high performance android phone which attracted me to this device. I have used it for a month now and can tell you some of the pros and cons Pros- 1. The 4inch AMOLED display experience is beyond any LCD. 2. The phone with its dual core never shows lag. Its smooth and snappy. 3. The lock screen and the extra settings in the notification menu are a candid addition which makes the OS fresh to look at. Cons- 1. I had read reviews about a bad battery life, and they came true. I thought that the screen and mobile data would be the culprits but I found that the cell standby (network) and phone idle (processor idling) contribute 60% to the battery use. That is, the phone discharges itself fast even when you are not using it. The phone will at max last you a day ... I dont know if its the problem of this handset but when i lock the screen, the phone disconnects to the mobile data in the background, not allowing gtalk and whatsaspp to work. I tried to find some setting that would change this but i have been unsuccessful so far. 4. The 4 capacitive buttons are a little less responsive. you have to touch it with your complete thumb to make it work sometimes, but you get used to it. Overall, other than the small software problems and the battery life, this phone is a great value for money for someone buying his first android phone and wants to test all its limits! Its definitely better than the HTC and Sony phones which come at this price.

The Pantech Burst is the perfect value phone, and a goodie in its own right
Sold for around $350 outright on AT&T (but here on eBay they can be had for a fair bit less than that) this seems like the perfect value phone... it's dual-core processor, integrated storage, Super AMOLED screen and LTE support make it the king of the budget segment, but how does it stack up as its own beast? - Display (3.5/5) This 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display had a lot going for it in the time of the Galaxy S... but I suppose its still a decent screen today, but it has some drawbacks comparing to top superphones recently released. The screen resolution is only WVGA, and in an era of 720p retina displays, it can be underwhelming. Couple that with the RGBG PenTile matrix, it's not the best screen on the market clearly. On the other hand, the high contrast ratio and deep darks (its as ... Overall - 4/5 Sure it doesn't beat the Galaxy S3 or the HTC One X (and maybe even competing with the iPhone 5 would be a bit of a stretch), but it's great for the price range, and is almost as good as phones priced much higher. Side note: make sure you know how to connect an unlocked phone on another network (and know what networks will support the frequency bands) if you plan to buy this phone and use it overseas.

Cheap and feature packed with a crappy battery... almost perfect but...
I hate iphones and got a family plan and a few of these phones recently. Aside from the camera that stopped working, but was under warranty and fixed, the phone is great. Sometimes I find myself calling my voicemail or playing a game in my pocket and the time it takes to boot up and waste precious juice with the big AT&T splash intro is aggravating. IT WILL NOT COME IN AT ALL ONCE THE BATTERY IS BELOW A CERTAIN LEVEL, EVEN WHEN PLUGGED IN. That is a real pain in the you know what. Then it likes to tell you how much it is charged instead of turning on so you have to unplug it, turn it on and finish charging. Sometimes it let's you use it at zero power remaining or the sensor is wrong. The battery life is the one thing that prevents this fast and feature packed (and almost free) phone to ... Best phone in it's class
Other reviewers have already listed the specifications as well as the pros and cons of the Pantech Burst. While I agree with all most all of the cons I have to remind everyone that this is a budget phone that has many of the specs of higher end phones. I've seen better screens, but I've seen a lot worse screens on big name phones selling for much more. I bought mine unlocked for $5 more. You can also get the unlock code for under $1 here on eBay. I installed Easy Battery Saver, Advanced Task Killer, and Auto Memory Manager to help the battery life. All 3 apps were free and my phone will lose only 3% of the battery charge overnight. I have texted 5 hours straight on wifi and still had 40% battery left. 4G will eat up the battery fairly quickly if used steadily (4-5 hours). My phone came ... My phone came with a knock off battery and charger which I upgraded to Pantech brand for under $20 for both. The bottom line is for the power of this phone the battery is average. One note of caution; Do Not leave a gel cover on this phone if you are charging it overnight. If, like me, you accidentally do, don't panic when your phone is dead and won't charge. Just remove the battery (to reset the heat overload protection) and charge the battery again. No harm, no foul, just a scary minute. Everything else about this phone is comparable to the upper middle class line of Android phones. The big difference is the cost. You won't find any other Android phone for under $100 that has the specs of the Burst. While not perfect I haven't noticed the touch screen being any better or worse then any other phone. What I have found is that certain apps have different levels of sensitivity. I use Swift Key for texting and all you have to do is put your finger close to the screen to type, other apps require a mild tap. The true storage available for the user is 12.33 gb, not 16 gb and the available ROM is closer to 500 mb, not 1 gb. Of course all of this can be changed by rooting the phone and getting rid of all the bloatware. There are companies now that sell one touch rooting for under $30. Rooting a phone voids the warranty, but you can unroot the phone to get warranty service. Just be careful what you remove if you root your phone. There are many "safe to remove" lists available for the Pantech Burst, use them for your protection. Rooting a phone causes no damage to the phone if done correctly. It's what people do after rooting their phones that ruins them. I highly recommend the Pantech Burst for most cell phone users. Those that want the latest and greatest won't be happy but the average user will be pleasantly surprised at what this phone can do. This phone is LTE so it will work with the latest and fastest 4G technology. Personally I don't use the major carriers, I use MVNO carriers that use AT&T towers. Be very careful when choosing a carrier, Straight Talk, Net 10, and Tracphone no longer use AT&T towers, they use T-Mobile. It is very easy to set up your phone for MVNO carriers and saves you about 1/3 on your bill. Conclusion: If you want to stay in the sub-$100 price range for an android phone running "ice cream sandwich, ICS", with a dual 1.5gb processor, 1gb ROM, 16gb RAM, and a 4" Super Amoled screen this is your only choice and it's a good choice. The call clarity and reception are both average for mid priced phones. This phone is a small computer that also functions as a phone and does it well.

Great phone! Pantech is not very known but it's solid!
This phone is very cheap, but powerful. Had only 1 problem one time when it looked like it wasn't charging anymore, but after a while it did. The shipping was fast, but expensive. I would've rather waited 1-2 weeks more than pay almost 50% of it's value in shipping. (internatinally, priority). The phone is fast, modern (android 4.0) and has a very cool UI. (it is a little different than your average android 4.0 in a better way). The speaker is not so great, it sounds a bit sharp and sometimes it's annoying to listen to someone talk because of that.This phone is very cheap, but powerful.
