Good enough unit for applications that only require sound. It won't do stereo from the AUX input, so that's a negative. Simple, old school features.

Good value for a basic car stereo.
I wanted a basic AM/FM stereo to replace the one in my truck which quit working some time ago. I didn't really want or need blue-tooth connectivity, satellite radio readiness, on board iPod controls or anything like that. The only feature I really wanted other than a radio was an auxiliary input jack. This is not a plug and play solution. If you are installing it yourself you will need to know the wiring diagram for your vehicles sound system or be able to figure it out. You can purchase wiring kits for most vehicles and wire the radio into those, then connect up that way, or for the daring clip off the factory connectors and directly connect the wires. You may also need an adapter kit to make the radio fit neatly in your vehicles dash. On the whole installing the radio took an ... On the whole installing the radio took an afternoon, and should be fairly easy for someone comfortable tinkering with with their vehicles electronics. The analog tuning is hard to work with while driving, so it's best to set a station and stick with it. There are only two stations that come in well in the mountains where I live anyway, so this is not a problem for me. The cassette player works well, with basic play, fast forward, and auto stop. The main reason I chose this unit, besides low price, was the front input jack. The sound when connecting my generic MP3 player is wonderful, clear and plenty loud. I like these auxiliary input jacks since anything that has a headphone jack can be played through the vehicle's speaker system. Overall I feel this stereo is a good value for a do it yourself installation. You will probably need an installation kit for wiring and the dash opening, but the same is true for stereos costing much more. The tuner works well, it may not be as convenient as digital but to get a decent digital unit you will probably pay more. The tape player works well, with basic controls and good sound. The auxiliary input jack is my favorite feature, as any kind of music player that uses standard headphones can be played through the vehicle speakers with great sound.

Tape, aux in/out, radio.. All I need. Beware, no circuit protection!
I bought this player because it has an aux in and an RCA line out. I never listen to cd's but I do listen to cassettes and mp3 players so I was looking for something like this that I could run into a better amp for full range speakers. I really like the old style tuner also because you can scan for stations easier. Positives: cheap. feels solid overall. less ugly than many other decks. aux in and out! Negatives: there is no rewind function only ff. There is no protection circuit on the speaker lines so if they touch each other for a second it's instantly garbage! this happened to me. They make it cheap by the simplest of possible circuitry I guess.I bought this player because it has an aux in and an RCA line out. Perfect for an old car.
I purchased this to replace the fancy neon-light and button infested Sony which plagued my 1979 BMW 635Csi project car when I bought it. The two shaft design actually looks like it belongs in the old Bimmer. Like many, I purchased it mainly for the aux-input jack. Sadly, you will need another amplifier if you want more than 2 speakers or louder sound. But hey, you should know that going into your purchase, because this is only $20! Sound is good and clear, and there is no discernible distortion from the input jack. I found the power to be lacking. Using medium sized speakers in my rear speaker pods I was unable to hear my GPS/MP3 player at 65MPH over the engine and wind noise. Granted, I have 30 year old door seals, an exhaust that needs to be replaced, and rear speakers muffled ... I am going to quickly re-wire it up to the front smaller speakers and believe it will fix the volume problem. Eventually I plan to hook up an auxiliary amp, and everything should be just fine. I haven't really tried the analog tuning nor the cassette deck. Frankly, I bought the cassette and the analog tuning mainly for their "period" look --and it does look good, much better than the "out of place/period" Sony. It is what it is, and if you know what you are getting you will be happy. The knobs have a VERY good feedback/feel to them which was a pleasant surprise for a $20 product. If you have an older car/truck and want the ability to use an MP3/GPS unit without ruining the timeless look of your dash, this is the head unit to buy!

Good radio for a work truck .two ways to mount it
I like the way it mounts in older vechicals and newer too. the price is reasonable . it has a place to plug in your mp3 player ect . also ready sat up for a amp. I dislike the fact thers not even a tone setting just a bass button but it's still worth the money good enough for that spare vechicle .
