About this product

Product Information

Steel Horizon is a Naval combat simulation set during World War II, the first of its kind on Nintendo DS. Players set sail as an American captain in charge of winning the war by deploying battleships, destroyers, submarines, and aircraft carriers against enemy fleets in the Atlantic and Pacific. The storyline explores an alternate history timeline, one that find the war orchestrated by an unknown faction armed with futuristic units. The game's story mode spans 20 missions enhanced with 3D graphics and a dynamic camera system for a cinematic effect. As in the DS strategy game Advance Wars: Dual Strike, movement is carried out in a turn-based format. Battles, however, take place in real-time. Wireless support is also included for head-to-head battles against a friend.

    Instantly one of my favorite games.

    I am a simulation and strategy kind of guy. This caught my attention right away. It combines turn based play with strategy. You command allied ships against the axis during the story. You can upgrade ships, capture ports, build shipyards and ships, and much more in this game. Fun and challenging.

    Potential squandered

    I am a huge fan of WWII Military Sims, especially naval sims. With that said, this is not a very playable sim. The control is clunky leading to poor game play. Getting into this title is kind of like getting teeth pulled minus the Novacaine. I would only recommend this title for the die hard collector of DS games or someone like me, who has to have all things WWII in the Pacific.

    Great stand alone game..(kept me busy for quite a few days!!) But if ya run across someone else that happens to also have it (unfortunately, it won't do 2 player w/out 2 games....), think battleship on steroids!!!

    Steel Horizon

    This title is reminiscent of a Super Nin title called PTO , It is complex and I still haven't figured out the game flow , not for the "quick fix " this game is intended for some solid attention span . 4 stars , so far .
