Blues most historical guitarist on cd

What can you say about Robert Johnson that hasn't been said? Excellent recordings of this guitarist. Is He a shredder no, is he a less is more player? Kinda, These cds capture a period in time that we cannot forget. This was the pinnacle old school blues Era caught on wax recordings now on digital cd for our enjoyment. Sit back on your porch pour some sweet tea or lemonade and enjoy the Era of blues we cab visit time and time again. Cool booklet as well, a great package for any R.J fans or just good old blues.

  • Robert Johnson (Blues) CD

Robert Johnson was brought back from obscurity by Eric Clapton. Clapton was taken by Johnson's treatment of the blues, and he credits many of his licks to Johnson. Most of Johnson's tunes will not be instantly recognized by Clapton fans - Sweet Home Chicago is among the more recognizable. The recordings are just old. The have a Rudy Valle quality to them and it seems like Johnson uses many of the same muscial devices - walk downs and the like - through out the selections. Johnson was no Eric - but without him Eric wouldn't had had songs like Cross Roads. Absent this inspiration Eric might have just turned into the greatest polka player ever - but Robert burned the blues into Eric's soul. Eric nurtured that ember to a blaze and set fire to the rest of us. This colection is an ...

Johnson left Robertsonville in 1931, when he returned he could play like the devil! Robert Leroy Johnson Died on August 16, 1938, at the age of 27 at a little backwood crossroads near Greenwood, Mississippi. November 23, 26, and 27, 1936 he recorded in San Antonio, Texas,. Seven months later, on Saturday and Sunday, June 19–20, 1937, he recorded again in Dallas. This was the whole of his recorded work. Six of his songs have to ...

  • Robert Johnson-Blues and More.

If you are a blues fan and have the versions of these songs by Clapton.. Rolling Stones and many others this is a great box set to hear exactly where rock and our modern day blues came from. The recordings are primitive by today’s standards but truly well worth a listen. .
