    Excellent value.

Today was alarm system day. Replaced the old Ademco 6128 that had sticking keys with this one plus a door status sensor gone bad. Replacing the Ademco 6128 was very easy. Had to clip the connector off the cable, then terminate the four wires identical to the 6128. The 6150 has nicer features as the keys light up and the display lights up when you press a key. Bigger buttons also. Be careful separating the front cover from the backplate. At the top use a flat screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry the case apart slightly at each fastener. At the bottom push in the slot with the flat blade on each side. I busted the old 6128 getting it apart to remove the back plate from the wall...... Wonder how I saved doing this myself?

  • Replacing older Ademco keypad

My house is about 15yrs old now and the old Ademco keypad had finally given up. They don't make that model anymore (I THINK it was a 6128, but I searched the internet and found that the 6150 was a good replacement for it) My old keypad was addressed as 31 (default). This keypad has 4 extra buttons outside the flip-down cover keypad that my old one didn't have. I only ran into 2 issues which logic overcame. 1 - Back cover and mounting on this matched perfectly with my old one, so no problem there. 2 - This has screw-down terminals. My old one had a 4-pin connector. Instructions on the back of the box here was a LITTLE unhelpful. As I recall, the 3 wires were labeled like Data In, +, -, Data Out on the instructions. But the terminal block and circuit board had no indication of which was ...

  • A quick fix for an old problem

I only needed a simple thermostat to replace a predecessor of this model. This has some additional features which I find useful e.g. an alpha display. Did I mention that the price was right and that I already knew how to install and program it?

  • Replaced old Ademco

Had an old 6128 Ademco pad that had the numbers sticking (#3) to be exact. Researched and saw this is it's replacement. Got it quick on Ebay. Took out the old one and easily replaced it with the 6150. Bigger number pads, cleaner look and works perfect.
