    A great traditional production of Parsifal

    This is a film of Richard Wagner's Parsifal. It is not a live performance. The soundtrack was prerecorded and camera angles are a bit more generous than can be on a live performance. The entire cast is great. The best names in Wagnerian singing at that time. All in their prime. Conductor Horst Stein leads a time performance. The production is traditional in concept and very colorful. A big treat and relief from designers who like to impose sometimes weird or mundane concepts that fail to make the performance "relevant".
